What Should I Look for in an Author Website Developer?

[cecilamoore]

I’m searching for an author website developer and want to make a well-informed decision before starting my project. What qualities or skills should I prioritize when choosing an author website developer, especially for creating a professional and reader-friendly site? Have you encountered any challenges or lessons during the process? I’d appreciate serious, honest suggestions and real experiences from authors who have built their own websites.
